Ajith Abraham, PMHNP-BC

AJITH ABRAHAM, PMHNP-BC

Ajith Abraham, PMHNP-BC, is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner based in Durham, North Carolina. He graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with a master’s degree in nursing. Ajith completed a rigorous twelve-month post-graduate residency program at Salem VA Medical Center, focusing on treating complex trauma, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance use disorders, and other chronic mental health conditions. With over a decade of nursing experience across various healthcare settings including medical, surgical, geriatric, hospice, and palliative care, Ajith is dedicated to providing compassionate care and building strong relationships with his patients. He is passionate about empowering individuals to actively participate in their treatment plans, with a focus on improving their quality of life. Mr. Abraham specializes in treating patients aged 13-99 and utilizes evidence-based practices to deliver effective ADHD treatment. At our clinic in Durham, North Carolina, we prioritize ongoing professional development to ensure we remain at the forefront of the latest research and treatment modalities in the field of mental health.

SERVICES

MEDICATION MANAGEMENT

Psychiatric medication management and prescribing are highly individualized processes, tailored to each patient's unique needs and circumstances. Effective communication, ongoing assessment, and patient engagement are key components of successful treatment in psychiatry. We follow evidence-based guidelines and clinical expertise to select appropriate medications.

TELEHEALTH SERVICES

We provide telepsychiatry which enables individuals to access mental health services from the comfort of their homes or from remote locations, which can be particularly beneficial for those in rural areas or individuals with limited mobility. Patients have to be in North Carolina at the time of service.

GENESIGHT TESTING

Genesight testing is a pharmacogenomic test designed to help healthcare providers personalize medication treatment plans for individuals with mental health conditions. This type of testing is particularly relevant for people who are prescribed medications for conditions like depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health disorders.

ADOLESCENT PSYCHIATRY

We provide medication management for children ages 13 and above for conditions like attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant disorder (ODD), disruptive mood dysregulation disorder (DMDD), anxiety, depression, and psychotic disorders.

Initial Evaluation: What to expect?

During our initial visit, we provide a create an individualized treatment plan and incorporating a holistic approach including medications, supplements and behavioral modifications. It is important to LISTEN, feel patients' concerns are heard, respected, confidential and to develop a collaborative partnership in the your mental health journey.. Cost: Varies based on insurance. Initial visit for self-pay patients is $250 and follow up visit is $150.

 

All new patient intake forms / consents have to be completed 48 hours before the scheduled appointment. Appointments may need to be re-scheduled if the necessary paperwork is not completed with the above -mentioned time.
